Moon Quest Cookie Policy
This policy explains which cookies moonquest.app uses, why, and how you can control them. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy and our Terms and Conditions.

1. What cookies are and how we use them
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device. Some are needed for the site to work at all. Others help us understand how the site is used or let third-party tools work on the page. Similar technologies, such as local storage and pixels, are covered by this policy too.
moonquest.app is built on Wix. Wix places a small set of cookies that are necessary for security, stability and loading the site. Beyond those, we keep cookies to a minimum. We do not use advertising networks on this site and we do not sell data about your visit.
This policy covers the website only. The Moon Quest app does not use cookies. How the app handles your data is described in our Privacy Policy.

2. Your choices
When you first visit the site, a banner asks whether you accept non-essential cookies. Essential cookies are set regardless, because the site cannot run without them. Nothing else is set until you choose.

You can change your mind at any time by clicking the fingerprint icon in the bottom left corner of any page, which reopens your cookie settings. Your choice is stored in a cookie so the banner does not reappear on every visit. If you clear your cookies, the banner will ask again.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block essential cookies, parts of the site may stop working.

If you are in the EU or the UK, we only set non-essential cookies with your consent, as required by the ePrivacy rules and the GDPR. Declining does not affect your ability to use the site.

3. The cookies we use
Essential cookies (always on). These are set by Wix, our website platform, and are needed for the site to load securely and work properly. Wix documents them on its support site.

Functional cookies (with your consent). Some pages embed a sign-up form for The Monthly Cycle, our newsletter on Substack. When the form loads, Substack may set its own cookies to remember whether you are signed in to Substack and to keep the form working. Substack describes these in its privacy policy. If you decline functional cookies, the embedded form may not load; you can still subscribe directly on Substack.

Analytics. We use Wix Analytics, the visitor statistics built into our website platform, to see how many people visit the site and which pages they view. It uses the Wix cookies listed above and does not set additional cookies of its own. We do not use Google Analytics or any other third-party analytics tool on this site.

Marketing cookies. We do not use marketing or advertising cookies on this site.

4. Third-party tools and links
Some pages embed content from other services, for example a newsletter sign-up form, a video, or a link to our journal shop at moonquest.shop. When you interact with embedded content, that provider may set its own cookies under its own policy. The shop runs on Shopify and has its own cookie banner and policy.
The Moon Quest app is not covered by this policy. It uses no cookies. Analytics in the app run on PostHog, hosted in the EU, and are described in our Privacy Policy.

5. Changes and contact
We will update this policy if we add or remove tools that set cookies. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
